Developing Events: A Message from the Vice President for Development & University Communications, Marjorie H. Everitt

Following the Faculty and Board Retreat of last fall, further work has been done to refine and reposition our strategic directions for the next several years. While changes in our academic and administrative functions have been under way, the Strategic Positioning Plan has continued to take shape toward forming the roadmap for our next capital fund-raising campaign.

As such, the university’s fund-raising efforts and external communications have begun to engage a broader spectrum of Stevens’ alumni and friends in a substantive conversation about the goals and future of the Institute. In the months ahead, you will see promoted in this space and elsewhere a variety of events, activities and communications designed to speak to the widest audience of students and alumni, faculty and staff, and friends and partners, as we build our audience of supporters.

Among our new initiatives that will support Stevens’ marketing objectives, the debut of the new Stevens website is just weeks away. It will serve as an important tool for enhanced outreach, delivering news of continuing change and growth, as well as inviting participation by all who wish to join us in cultivating the Institute’s resources to ensure growth and excellence in the future.

As Stevens Institute of Technology moves toward a significant endowment-building campaign, I look forward to working with the greatest number of you in the national (and now global) Stevens community. Together, we will make strides on behalf of the Institute that will strengthen Stevens’ position of leadership in education, research and technology innovation far into the future. – Marjorie H. Everitt
