Stevens Institute of Technology Class of 2009 Master’s Program Announced

A unique opportunity offered to graduating seniors to further their Stevens education

HOBOKEN, NJ –Stevens Institute of Technology is proud to boast an outstanding career placement record for its graduates. Last year more than 97% of the graduating class was placed with an average starting salary of $60,200. The Class of 2009 is on target to continue this tradition, despite the present economic trend. To complement this, Stevens is unveiling a new program specifically tailored to graduating seniors who are planning for their future during a difficult economic climate. This unique opportunity will allow graduating seniors to continue their studies and earn a Master’s degree.

Members of the Stevens’ class of 2009 are eligible to apply for this special opportunity. A key feature of this first-time program is that eligible students who are accepted into a graduate program at Stevens will continue to receive institutional scholarships and financial aid. As long as students are studying full-time they will receive financial support proportional to that which was awarded in the 2008-09 academic year.

The Office of Graduate Admissions and the Office of Career Development at Stevens will be hosting a workshop on March 19, 2009 for students interested in pursuing this opportunity. Lynn Insley, Director of Career Development, notes that: “Stevens will continue to provide guidance and information to assist graduating seniors as they move forward in their professional lives. If they make the decision to stay on and complete their Master’s degree they will have the full support of our office when they move into the next stage of their career.”

“This is a critical time for our students and we are in the midst of a challenging economic period which makes it even more important that they consider all the options available to them. We are confident that the Stevens Class of 2009 Master’s Program is a significant way to provide our students with an opportunity to further their studies in our outstanding graduate programs in engineering, science and technology management. They will be even more valuable to prospective employers in the future,” said Dr. Maureen Weatherall, Vice President for University Enrollment and Administration.
