Grasso joins Lanco Global Systems, Ltd. as executive VP for global healthcare solutions

Stevens' adjunct professor will play integral role on LGS management team

HOBOKEN, N.J. ― Dr. S. Vincent Grasso, a Stevens Institute of Technology Adjunct Professor in Chemistry, Chemical Biology, and Healthcare IT Management Advisory Board Member, has joined Lanco Global Systems, Ltd. (LGS), as the company’s executive vice president for global healthcare solutions. LGS is a leading IT firm traded on the Mumbai Stock Exchange.

“We are extremely pleased to have Dr. Grasso join the LGS management team. His credentials as a surgeon, software architect/informaticist, and business analyst are unique within the industry and highly valued,” said LGS’s Chief Technology Officer Sailendra Yerrapragada, Ph.D., EMBA. Dr. Yerrapragada was responsible for recruiting Grasso. "I am confident that Dr. Grasso will be a tremendous asset to LGS as it extends its overall global reach in addition to its expansion into the healthcare vertical."

In addition to his positions at Stevens, Grasso is the founder and CEO of Technology Integrations for Medical Applications, Inc. (TIMA), a Scientific Advisory Board Member for Legend Merchant Group (a Wall Street based financial services firm), founder and CEO of AYUDAMOS (a medical humanitarian aid not for profit), and is in the process of establishing a long term clinical, R&D/commercialization, relationship with a major New York medical system.

“Information Technology has evolved into an exceedingly complex and ever essential component within the overall delivery of healthcare. Demands concerning both clinical and financial information security, audits, and EDI by way of HIPAA, SOX and others, has created a plethora of difficulties to not only physicians delivering clinical care, but all providers, researchers, payors and increasingly patients. The complexities and demands placed not only upon companies attempting to support the healthcare vertical from an IT perspective, but the actual information and financial systems that are running has risen by at least an order of magnitude over the past five years.”

“In order to meet these challenges within the global marketplace, in my opinion, a pentad of capabilities including management excellence, extensive software development proficiencies, enterprise grade financial services and database consulting, subject matter expertise within clinical care and data security, and 24/7 support services represent a prerequisite for doing business,” said Grasso.

Despite the large numbers of companies worldwide attempting to deliver comprehensive IT related services to the healthcare vertical, many possess only several of the prerequisite pentad of capabilities required to do so.

“LGS is an exciting company for me to be part of. Their worldwide expertise within the public and commercial sectors in addition to the financial service vertical is formidable. Concerning the healthcare vertical, I feel confident that LGS and its evolving strategic relationships possesses the prerequisite pentad of capabilities I have been searching for within an IT company in order for it to deliver value with a decisive advantage to providers, partners, and patients. I feel confident that LGS is going to be a company to watch within the global healthcare IT marketplace,” said Grasso.

Grasso completed his medical training at Des Moines University, his surgical residency at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine Manhattan Program, Post Doctoral activities in Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery within the Department of General and Endoscopic Surgery at the Yale University School of Medicine, and Medical Informatics R&D as a NASA Project Manager within the Yale University NASA Commercial Space Center for Medical Informatics and Technology Applications.
