International Trade, Business and Commerce Leaders To Discuss Electronic Business for Small- To Medium-Size Companies

Small- to medium size companies will discuss how to conduct electronic business across the globe during the "E-Business and International Trade: Technical and Marketing Solutions for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises," symposium Sept. 24, between 8:30 a.m. and Noon, at Stevens Institute of Technology in the Bissinger Room of the Wesley J. Howe Center, fourth floor, on the university’s Hoboken campus. The media is invited to this event.

The conference, sponsored by the U.S. Department of Commerce/New Jersey District Export Council, Union County Economic Development Corporation and Stevens, will provide attendees with an opportunity to learn how to promote and leverage their transactional web site, or how to set up for electronic commerce. Topics will include: discovering technologies and solutions for increasing sales on the Internet; learning how your company can reach more consumers and conduct business with re-sellers and distributors; and learn about the new Electronic Commerce Resource Center, a new government funded E-Commerce consultation and technical support center.

Speakers include: Edmund Sarno, Architecture Manager, Intel Corporation; Dennis Stillwell, chairman and CEO, Imex Exchange; Neil Cooper, CISSP, Price Waterhouse Coopers LLP; and Charles Merrill of McCarter & English. Silvio Laccetti of Stevens Institute of Technology will give the opening remarks at 9:00 a.m. Axel Velden, director of International Development of Johnson & Johnson International and chairman of the New Jersey District Export Council will give the closing remarks at Noon.
